However, I’m sure I am not unique in my outlook. In some respects it means that you’re getting more value out of this ageing MMORPG than I am. Now I fully expect many people reading this to disagree and extol a contrary opinion. Good gear is available elsewhere in her game. Again, for a player such as I, avoiding crafting at the endgame is not in any way an impediment. But sooner or later, it becomes too much of an unwieldy mechanic to maintain. I will craft during the early levels of the game as it can provide a good additional source of XP. You simply don’t see much low level crafted gear on the auction house anymore. Sadly, the crafting system in the game today is bloated, so those who have kept up to date and reached the required level of competence can just about stay on top of it and create gear for themselves. Crafting used to be quite a lucrative activity as well. They enjoy the process as a relaxing experience. Most of the people that I know who craft regularly in LOTRO, do so for pleasure. Raids are a different matter but again, is that really an issue for the average LOTRO player?Ĭrafting. For me and the manner in which I play LOTRO at, these items are not required. Older iterations of food, potions and such like become obsolete rather quickly due to the speed of levelling and it is easy to clutter your bag with items you don’t need. If that is the case, the consumables that come from Hobbit Presents will do the job. Occasionally an instance may require a boost of some kind. For most PVE content in LOTRO, my current stats are sufficient to see me through. Considering how useful (and fun) companions are in Star WarsThe Old Republic as well as your away team in Star Trek Online, it’s a shame that LOTRO got saddled with such a less versatile equivalent.įood, potions and other consumables. Plus, due to their chaotic AI and poor handling, Landscape Soldiers are an extremely blunt tool. PVE content is manageable (to say the least) and introducing a third party after my pet is unnecessary as far as I can see. Due to power creep and finally having obtained some good quality gear, I no longer use my Landscape Soldier any more in LOTRO, unless there is a unique situation that requires it. So after finding about three outfits that I can live with, I don’t believe I’ve altered my primary alts appearance for over half a decade. Despite the fact that the developers added the ability to wear non-class related items cosmetically, a long time ago, there is precious little that looks sartorially appropriate for the Lore-master. You can either look like Ming the Merciless or Rick Wakeman during his cape fetish era from when he was in Yes. Cosmetic outfit options for the Lore-master class in LOTRO are very limited. I’ve said it before and I will say it again and again. Hence I have never bought any further cosmetic items for my War-steed because why would I do that for something I don’t use? My only regret is that I didn’t get much use out of the War Wolf companion that the Lore-master gets through traiting in a specific fashion.Ĭosmetic Items. However once the expansion was completed I and others never touched this mechanic ever again. But what cannot be cured must be endured, so many players just got on with it. For some classes, being on horseback was utterly absurd and far from fun. When it finally arrived it was clunky, with steering your War-steed especially difficult with heavier mounts. All I could think of at the time was that I hadn't asked for it. I can remember when the Riders of Rohan expansion was being touted by then developer Turbine and the concept of mounted combat was referenced as being the alleged Holy Grail among players. Certainly they don’t necessarily have any major bearing upon the average LOTRO player (follow the link for a discussion about this particular definition) with an alt at level cap. In fact, off the top of my head, here are five aspects of LOTRO that were a big deal at one point during the games lifecycle (indeed some were major selling points) but now are not essential as you progress through the game. Much of this junk is linked to wider systems and mechanics in the game that are no longer relevant or at the least are no longer as important to the game as it has grown and expanded. Much of which is obsolete or only of use for a very short period of time while levelling. After 14 years and a great deal of change, it’s hardly surprising that an MMO such as LOTRO generates so much bric-a-brac and superfluous items. I logged into The Lord of the Rings Online today and started sorting through my inventory and vault on my primary character, which is a level cap Lore-master.

She once used Kosame Amagai's stick to heal Kiyoharu Suirenji because she felt she was responsible for the injury of Kiyo. Her Stick was given to her by Nana.Ī box cutter that heals a person who drinks the blood of the user when they cut themselves with the box cutter Stick. When using her stick, blood flows from her eyes and her hair changes to blood-red in the tips, like highlights. After this, she developed a better relationship with her brother and no longer had to face the torment she once did back then.Īya's Original Stick is a gun with the ability to teleport people instantly to places that have a strong impact on her or where she is thinking of by shooting them, but ever since the death of Tsuyuno Yatsumura, she now has the power to teleport/transfer memories and even life spans among people or even multiple individuals and can now even "exorcise" a Site Admins from their hosts and later during the destruction of the world, Aya gained another new ability to travel back in time, either by transferring her present consciousness into her past body or even outright teleport her entire body and soul into the past as well. This was shown when she gathered with the other Magical Girls, her friends and demanded they give her their Sticks in order for them to no longer be targeted by the Admins and so that she could fight them alone.Īya's kindness is so great that when The King was defeated, Aya decided to go back in time to prevent the tragedies of all the people she loves, thus creating a new timeline without suffering, without magical girls, and without the Tempest. she blamed herself rather than her bullies for being bullied, but she also does not hesitate to protect the ones she loves or cares for even if it means risking her life. In the anime where when she was reading a book in front of the class, for example, she was lightly berated by her teacher for not speaking clearly.Īya constantly blames herself for things she can't control. Aya is also quite soft-speaking and meek. She has an almost unnaturally kind disposition, as seen by how she put up with her adoptive brother's daily abuse simply to keep him from collapsing mentally, as Aya's adoptive father consistently abused her brother due to the expectations he had to meet for him. When using her Stick, her hair Gets an Hot Pink/Violet Red/Bloody Pink Ombre fade.Īya was born shortly before midnight as the older of two female twins, with her twin sister.Īfterward, Aya and her sister were given up for adoption as their mother died during the childbirth, their father disappeared, and their relatives did not want to take custody of them.Īs a result, Aya was adopted by Jirou Asagiri and Momoko Asagiri, a couple that had a son named Kaname Asagiri, who had opted for adoption after Momoko had a miscarriage and become sterile, after which she lived an unlucky and sad life.Īya is bullied at school by three girls named Sarina Shizukume, Erika Kaijima and Ai Kawano where she gets tormented at home by Kaname as his "Human Stress Bag." This has been an everyday routine for her and she had even considered committing suicide daily.Īya is a shy girl who suffers from depression and often thinks of ending her life. When using her stick's powers, her eyes change to match the sticks Emblem so far they've changed into Hearts, the Letter Q, Roman Numeral IV, and the Minus - Symbol. There is so much wrong with "Ghost," it's hard to know where to start. But in this instance, it's quickly replaced by resentment that a show has co-opted and manipulated such an exquisitely raw and potent device, a vulnerable place for any audience where no show should casually tread, and used it so carelessly, tossing away the human vulnerability for a slew of harsh, digitized illusions. And for a second, it does (it's why the movie made plenty of people cry). So that moment in "Ghost" - not so different, really, from the instant Julie Jordan senses Billy Bigelow standing before her - should put a lump in your throat. SpongeBob doesn't think about any of that, he just goes for it. Kids are always getting shutdown - don't say this, don't do that, shh, watch it, why did you do that. You can't do certain things, you have to be polite. We live in a world and work in a world where you have to watch yourself all the time. My kid that wants to be an animator is probably slightly on the spectrum. TK: Even though, obviously we're all autistic to a degree, especially in this business and animation I think being autistic is helpful to your skill set to some degree. RB: There's a simplicity to it, not only in the gags and the words, but to the colors and the drawings that might appeal to autistic kids or adults also. It's silly roles and kids connect to silly right away. ML: That's what the spirit of the show is. If something comes to their head, it's just going straight out. And my kids, there 11 and 12, but there's a lot of ways there not 11 and 12. JS: It's like you said, there's no filter. It's really interesting, and I know autistic kids fixate on certain things and certain shows, but there' something about Spongebob and it's not just that SpongeBob is bigger than other shows, I don't know, I don't have a theory at all.ĬB: It would be interesting to figure that out. And the autistic thing comes up so insanely often that I wish someone would write a term paper on it or a treatise on it. Obviously you're not thinking about that when you're making it, but once you put it out in the world it has different uses. TK: Yeah, but it's funny, it's this thing where you're just trying to make something is diverting and makes people laugh and makes us laugh, but it's got all this other stuff that it can do. Then I realized it." It's really heavy, like mind-blowing stuff where you're like wow, this thing, this product, this show that's just trying to be funny.ĬB: But there's no guile in him, there is absolutely no guile. I've had people say "I didn't know if my kids understood words until I heard him laughing at a SpongeBob episode. It comes up a lot actually, the autistic thing comes up, like at comic-cons and things like that. He doesn't have a filter, he does what he wants. TK: Somebody just came up to me yesterday on the floor and their kid was was quite severely autistic and 14 years old, but much younger obviously in other ways.ĬB: SpongeBob connects at every level of the spectrum. TK: Yeah, I have a lot to say about this, actually. So I want to know why you think autistic kids relate so well to SpongeBob? With my age, SpongeBob came on in 1999, when I was finishing grad school and I didn't watch the show, but now I watch a lot of SpongeBob. I was talking to Clancy a little bit before actually and my boys are both autistic and I watch a lot of SpongeBob as a result. RB: We enjoy raising the stock of people. (In SpongeBob voice) Suck it, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Krabs, and SpongeBob, and Plankton?!" They were so happy. This year though I told them I'm going to interview SpongeBob, and they were like "You're going to interview Squidward, and Mr. JS: Last year I interviewed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and were like, "I don't know who that is." It was great, but they couldn't care less. JS: First, I want to thank you all, because you helped me impress my kids. The singular in our character.ĬB: (in his Mr. Roger Bumpass: One of the nice things about a long-running show, though, is that our characters can be fleshed out further and further. Commedia dell'arte, as Clancy said earlier. The naive guy, the bad guy, the greedy guy, the dumb guy, and the curmudgeon. They are archetype characters that are kind of ancient comedy tropes. And 2001 is awesome." The world is so different, but SpongeBob and the comedy of SpongeBob and the characters are really the same. What are you watching? Lawrence of Arabia, it's great. TK: I see these animators breaking their backs, slaving for hours a day making everything look great so people can watch it on a screen this big (puts hands into the shape of a typical phone screen). Joshua Stone: Now they watch it on their phones. Journalist: What has changed since you were first on the air? Also at the interview was another member of the media from a different website, and they asked the first question. Lawrence (writer, story editor, and voice of Plankton). In the words of bossa nova singer Rosa Passos “fry the egg, but don’t break the yolk.” If bossa nova is played too straight it can feel slightly uninformed, the sway present helps the music to feel relaxed. If we imagine the “scale of swing” that we spoke about in the samba article, with one side of the scale being fully fledged uneven samba 16th notes, and the other side being completely even notes, bossa nova should sit somewhere in the middle.
If you decide to do holy/disc challenge later, the tint for the KJ kill will be unlocked as well once you completed the challenge. However, let's say you did SP mage tower and killed KJ hc. Every tint is usable only if you unlocked the baseline one. So for example I do Mage Tower for Shadow Priest, and then kill Heroic KJ I then get Mage Tower tints for Shadow, Holy, Discipline even though I didn't do the challenge to get their base skins? I know for the hidden artifact appearances I don't need the base one as long as I have it on one spec in a class, but that's the same with Mage Tower as well? Comment by Peredhil on T00:47:12-05:00 You just need to have the base Mage Tower appearance unlocked, and you will earn progress towards each tint simply by doing that activity, regardless of artifact equipped. In addition, the unlock progress on the tints is class-wide, so you don't need to complete the requirements multiple times wielding different sets of artifacts. The Mage Tower base appearance must be earned during Legion, but the tints can be unlocked after Legion, which involves rated battlegrounds, a heroic Kil'jaeden kill, and clearing all Legion dungeons.
