![]() ![]() For two Colorless Energy, Mew VMAX can copy any attacks from Pokemon on the bench. The Mew VMAX deck presently reigns supreme, a fact that has held true for multiple expansions and counting. If you've heard of just one deck in the current meta, odds are solid it's this one. Special thanks to Japanese Late Night tournament player Reiji Nishiguchi for coming up with this genius deck build, which revolves around juicing up an Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR through not just item cards, but the abilities of Mew (Celebrations) and Radiant Greninja as well. At five, which is what's needed for Star Chronos, that's 200. But even if you should happen to go up against such setbacks, consider that eliminating a V still serves to prevent one from becoming a VMAX in the first place.Īnd while Star Chronos, as a VSTAR Power, can only be used once per match, you still have its regular attack, Metal Blast, which does 40 damage for every Steel energy attached. As for Pokemon VSTAR, sure, there are decks that continue to eschew them entirely, in favor of VMAX. But how situational is it, truly? Right now, almost every deck you'll go up against has Pokemon V. Prize Cards in two turns with VSTAR Power Star Chronos. WIth 310 HP, Mewtwo is already appropriately bulky for a four-card combo package, but now it's downright unnervingly so. Mewtwo V-UNION's Photon Barrier ability shrugs off any status-related effects of the opponent's attacks. By preventing the opponent from most forms of quickly fetching their choice V and VMAX cards, you force them to rely upon luck and luck alone, and while luck can at times be a glorious thing, you're not sitting idly - you're building the war machine that is Mewtwo V-UNION. Pretty much any known Trainer card technique in the current meta can get interrupted or outright thwarted with your fine selection. Here's the pitch: you have so many cards capable of eliminating your enemy's most probable strategies that they are effectively paralyzed. ![]() RELATED: Pokemon TCG: Cards You Need If You Want To Run An Eternatus VMAX Deck The point is, this is incredibly Trainer-heavy. That leaves just six Energy cards, and being a V-UNION deck, four of the Pokemon-type cards are all essentially built to become one. First of all, you know you're looking at a highly specialized strategy when 38 out of 60 cards are Trainers.
